The Midland Marine Galvanized 'Danforth' Type Anchor is a popular choice for recreational boaters due to its holding power, versatility, and ease of use.  The anchor is a budget version, which is of galvanised construction.

The anchor consists of two large, flat, pivoting pointed flukes that dig into the seabed when the anchor is set.  The flukes are designed to provide excellent holding power in various types of substrate, including sand, mud, and gravel; it does not perform well in rocky or heavily weeded bottoms, as the flukes can become entangled.

The anchor can fold flat making it easy to stow and it is relatively lightweight compared to other type of anchors.
