About

The Tohatsu MFS40 40hp 4-stroke Outboard is part of the Tohatsu mid-range power fleet of engines.  It is designed to be 'ultra lightweight' to be lightest in class.  The engine comes with a 7 year limited manufacturers warranty.  

A number of model options are available including basic tiller, multi-function tiller or remote control and power trim.

• Camshaft-driven trochoid oil pump for longer term durability and canister style oil filter for simpler replacement
• Advanced electronic fuel injection to minimise fuel burn
• Digital CD ignition system for quicker starts
• Start-in-gear protection for safer engine starting
• Multi-function tachometer and diagnostics
• High output alternator with charging system
• Larger cavitation plate and splash plate for better performance
• Variable trolling speed for low-speed operation
• Variable idling speed control from 650 to 950 rpm
• Adjustable steering friction and trim tab for reducing steering effort
• Power trim and tilt. Tilt limit switch (option dependent)
• In built freshwater flushing system
• Through-the-prop exhaust for quieter running
• Thermostatically controlled cooling system
• Durable stainless steel water pump housing liner
• Separate 25 litre fuel tank including fuel fittings and fuel line
